All ex-pupils, and staff past and present, of Acton County Grammar School, now known as Acton High School, are eligible for Membership of the Association, which is an entirely separate entity from the Old Actonians Association Sports Club, although we use their premises as a base and operate happily in tandem with them.
The Old Actonians Association is actually the Body which first instigated the foundation of O.A.A.S.C., which thereafter outgrew us and took off on its own. As you may know, it is now a large and thriving Limited Company of which our Association still has a seat on the Board.
Many Association members, of course, also belong to the Club and play their sports there.
We meet once a year at an Annual Dinner, traditionally held in October.
During the summer, our members are invited to attend the last day of Cricket Week, an annual Club occasion in August, when the final match involves a Club side versus Ex-Acts.(Old Actonians).
Apart from the AGM, our other annual events are a growing reunion in the Clubhouse on the last Friday of January and a football match between us and the School Master?s team in the Spring.
Membership stands at approximately 200 at present, but this is rising. Contact is maintained by Quarterly Newsletters and we are always happy to welcome new members.
Subs. are a mere one pound per annnum, payable 10 years in advance (which cuts down on administration).
